Construction Purchasing Coordinator

Chaffey Custom Construction is looking to add to its team and is currently seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to oversee bidding, negotiating and contracting of luxury custom homes in a full-time position. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.  The Purchasing Coordinator works to prepare accurate analysis and comparisons of pricing data, engage in negotiations, and build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze bids for completeness and accuracy, negotiate and organize for review with other team members
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as, a technical knowledge of construction and assemblies. Experience in residential single-family construction is strongly preferred.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with interaction of all clients and subcontractors
  • Maintain and understand general knowledge of all scopes of work pertaining to subcontractors and their contracts
  • Write P.O.’s and V.P.O.’s upon contract being awarded
  • Assist in monthly budget reviews
  • Work with owners to incorporate a specification in coordination with interior designer.
  • Collaborate with the members of the production, sales and design teams to identify and implement cost saving measures in materials, labor, plan design and process.


  • Knowledge of the BuilderTrend software program preferred but willing to train
  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management, business or a related field is required
  • Review and analyze bids and product data
  • Comfortable in negotiation
  • Track and manage price fluctuations in materials, labor and other job costs.
  • Maintain construction specifications and scopes of work.
  • Excellent organizational skills are a must.  Will be required to support multiple projects in parallel and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Team oriented with the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with team members and management.
  • Comfortable in a detail oriented, demanding and fast-paced work environment.
