The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Management staff in ensuring the smooth operation of the bidding, estimating, and information flow of all assigned projects as well as the overall support of Project Managers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; document control, and estimating. This is a salaried exempt position.

Prefer a Construction Management Degree, and two (2) years hands on experience in construction management and estimating.

Prefer management experience in controlling operating costs

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, schematic or diagram form, to include engineering & architectural drawings.
  • Ability to define problems, interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions that represent the Company’s interests.
  • Proficient knowledge in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, and other computer software packages as deemed necessary, or the willingness to learn.
  • Ability to independently run a volume of work ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 based on experience level in addition to providing support to Project Managers.
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a vehicle with insurance coverage.
  • Must be a citizen of the USA or a legal resident alien
  • Must be able to pass a drug analysis test


The Project Engineer reports directly to and is fully accountable to a Senior Project Manager.



The principle responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting Project Management staff in support of their projects to include but not limited to the following items as directed:
    • Modify project schedules with PM and/or Superintendent input
    • Review shop drawings
    • Pre-bid job-site visitation to review existing conditions and to take photos
    • Facilitation, processing, and distribution of Meeting Minutes
    • Submittals
    • Permits
  • Estimates, bids jobs, monitors, and revises, as necessary, management of work flow and the control of time and costs related to assigned projects.


The principle duties of the Project Engineer shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Will support all Project Managers as required
  • Will manage subcontractor buyout for assigned construction projects. Ensures the efficient and smooth coordination of all operational activities and functions among field Superintendents and crews
  • Attends regular meetings and keeps management informed on those matters that affect the successful performance of the jobs they support
  • Facilitate and monitors Contract and/or Work Order billings for their projects.
  • Assist Project Managers as required to facilitate and monitor their Contract billings.
  • Will meet with the Sr. Project Manager bi-monthly to schedule estimates, equipment and staffing requirements as well as reviewing job costs and project schedules for projects they manage.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in investigating problems and making decisions
